FMP workshop cloud texture making

Today I did a workshop Substance Designer to generate cloud textures. Working with 3D objects I had to learn some 3D terms as you see in the image below.

Height is real hight and normal is fake hight; generated with light.


Here you see how the program works with al kind of "stones" that have a function. You start with a shape than one can blur it, make a mask or add a gradient or a colour. A couple of shapes can be blend together.

That way a structure makes a complete texture as you see below.

This is how the texture looks on a sphere.

Here used on a 3d cloud object en some spheres and a spash.

Here just the roughness and normal used

The texture used on a plane in Dimensions

Loved to play with it but for now I won't use this technic because I don't have an idea for it.
