I am asked to participate a photo exhibition in the house of photography by the foundation Debsaysyes. Hans Withoos is the curator. He saw my work on Instagram.

About the expo (information I got by mail).

The exhibition will be entitled “The sweet life”. In these strange times a meaningful and hopeful title. Each room is given its own title: for example, life is poetry, life is malleable.

We want to open at the same time as Art Rotterdam and Rotterdam Photo. For the time being, that is the weekend of February 4 - 7, 2021. Two things are uncertain. We may want to linger longer, say a maximum of one month. It can also be postponed until (after) the summer due to corona. The house of photography consists of rooms and corridors of different sizes. The amount of space varies per artist. In a general sense we can say that every artist has about 3 to 4 meters of wall and therefore space for max. 4 to 6 works. It is a sales exhibition and the works that we sell are immediately given to the buyer.

Debsaysyes is a non profit foundation. Debsaysyes feels that more artists should be able to live off their art and that more people should be able to see and buy top art. Big artists are invited to make small and affordable work. Maximum price is €500,- and maximum size is letterboxproof. In a new digital platform we want to show and sell this art on behalf of the artists. In expositions and events we will bring art, artists and artlovers closer together. This will make art flow.

My work will be in the poetry room, and I have to sent them a couple of images did to choose from. Nor sure which one they saw. The house of photography is a new initiative that I didn't know of before. Have to investigate it more.

Not really clear what Hans had seen so I made 3 contact sheets to sent to him for series to choose from.

This is the selection made by Hans. He liked the orange one as well but that one didn't make it because of the colour.
