FMP website

One of the things in my planning to do was making a website. Mine is old and I didn't put in new work for quite some time although I still think I like a lot of the elements.

What I do like is the menu on the left site of the site. I don't think the logo/name works.

Two of the 3 elements are GIF animations that is cool.

The menu and look/name stays the same and going over the images the shape of the image changes and the text of the project is shown

When you go to one of the projects the logo is the "home" button and the "I" button gives information on the project. That In would do differently. That you see a counter to tell how many images there are is still something that I like.

I also sought out other websites to see what I liked about them.

Christine de Middel: I miss her name on the site. Love the typography in the images and when scrolling over you see the normal image.

Hans Withoos. The menu at the right site and the lines that become darker I like. I think the background is to dark but when the black becomes a column I like it. The subtile line under artist information works nice.

Susan Woodford: the menu at the top that stays on other pages with the name at the right top as well as in the center. The small line underneath it. The big image and the social media buttons at the centre. I love the look.

Mirjam Donkers: the clean look I like but the bold font in the menu not. It is to much centred to the edges I think.

Antim: Clean, again a line and small tables that allow you to go to the work; it works but it is a bit too clean for me.

Dan Frantz: the lines work really well; nut the selected work title is a bit to much for me it is already red in the menu bar; I don't need a visual reminder and the text is as big and as important as the photographers name.

Eric Pickersgill studio: Clean but the large image makes it personal in a way

Katie O'Sullivan; clicking on the menu I get an orange screen the orange comes back in the year, menu button and subtil circles.

Luke Adam Hawker: very fragile not white white as a background and the menu is also a tray that fits in with the tray of the drawings.

A full frame image with in the empty space the name of the photografher. I would like the menu vertical.

Ruud Baan has tiles in one long site. His name at the right and the menu left. Clean and the focus is images.

Sarah Douglas: clicking on the menu a text pops up; clean with lines but a bit hard to read

Ross Trevail: a grey square around the text. For the images scroll to the right.

Conclusion;

I like clean, lines and subtile colours. The focus has to go to the images.
