How to write a proposal is this weeks issue.
Placing a video on a crowdfunding platform is a popular way to collect money to carry out a project. A large number of those projects are, in the end, funded, as I have read by friends and acquaintances. I can imagine this because when I check which projects I have supported in recent years there has actually only been one of which I did not know the creator personally. I had been familiar with the work for a few years.
I myself immediately wonder to what extent I want my acquaintances and friends to pay for a project that I want to finalize and that would be a reason not to start promoting it in this way.
The best page I ran into searching the internet on how to write a proposal.
With the tips and tricks I learned on the site I immediately saw the amazing amount of times the word "I" was used in the proposal on https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gems/beautifully-abandonded-new-england/descriptionproposal This is described in the article above as a "no go" because it is supposed to go about the subject and not the photographer.
A movietrailer is also a proposal with a goal to let me go see the movie.
In this youtube video, you see how almost every film trailer has the same script. I imagined looking at this, a trailer I recently saw and yes, the trailer followed the script in detail. And I immediately started to wonder if it is the same for the way you make a proposal.
I also find an absolute good proposal; from this driven woman; a story with a clear structure, towards a climax, peppered with humor and mentioning own mistakes, therefore, she comes across as reliable, human and passionate. I was taken into a story and liked to help at the end.
