I did some more research on climate change and possibilities.
One of the question is can we in the Netherlands without nuclear energy? Nuclear energy is cleaner because it works without coal, but according to the scientist we can do without.
First of all we can look at solar energy. To replace the production of a small nuclear power plant you need 8000 hectares of solar panels. CO2 is released during the production of the solar panels. It takes 2 years to earn it back. Solar panels produce little CO2 themselves. However, in winter, when the days are shorter and the sun shines less, it is not really effective.
Since wind blows quite often, wind energy is smarter. There is enough wind at sea 50% of the time and 25% of the time on land. Wind energy itself does not produce CO2 and the CO2 that is released during production is earned back within six months. People don't like windmills and don't want any in their backyard.
Sun and wind energy are not always there and therefore this must be supplemented with a more constant energy source, such as nucear engerd or biomass. However biomass also requires space. We don't have a lot of space in the Netherlands and we also need that space for food production.
Factories can store CO2 emissions underground, but that is only a postponement measure that is of no use to us in the long term.
