Today I was able to present printed book dummies to Lukas Birk.

My work is always about a form of transformation and that is what I also want to do in this book. By browsing through it, the viewer can make combinations himself. The book itself is not intended as a book for printing and publishing, but more as a memory or teaser for an exhibition.

This presentation method could also be the exhibition itself with flapping panels on the floor or on the wall that the viewer can turn over. What struck Lukas is the combination of analog and digital; he told me that this is not seen very often. He asked what the exhibition would have. It would have films/animations in which you can see the 3D part literally appearing from the surface, in combination with the handmade paper, the dried flowers and the cyanotypes. The sound I extracted from the photo may be heard, but you may also have to walk along the wall with the PhonePaper app to hear it; letting the spectator play an active role in the exhibition in this way. Adding augmented reality could also be possible. Not that far in the proces yet. Lukas also told me to think about 3D printing to add a tactility. A book can also be a single object and 10 km long one can add sand or other material. This is harder if you have an edition of a few hundred copies. Combining analogue, digital, nature and technology, the tangible and the elusive would be exciting in an expo.
