This years theme for landings is on metamorphosis; exactly what I am experimenting with for my lenticular prints; I morph one image into another using Premiere and export alk the stages to get 18 different images and the morph.

I decided therefor to show part of the results on a bechance page for Landings 2020 with the name "metamorphosis of clouds. I was thinking of doing it on my website but since I plan to redesign my website I didn't want to be restricted by the Landings pages that has to be available online for a year.

The Behance page can be found here:

Since publishing this I made some others with the idea to see what happens when I use the morphs in the 3D cloudscapes.

4 of the stages I like without doing anything else with them; just as the photo it becomes.

Nor sure if I showed the series, the morph itself before so made screenshots of 2 of them. See how the clouds are changing not overtime as they do in real time but the way they do on my screen.

I started yesterday with making the morph into a3D object.

The image at the left is the starting point, on the right you see the 3D object. The bigger-one underneath is the overnight render result after editing the light.

To make the 3d object I have to do some blurring of the colours otherwise it results in just a lot of spikes. A year ago I started with a normal gaussian blur but nowadays I look at the image and try to let the direction of the blur fit the image. The image on the left is the original and the two on the right show alternations of "path" blurs.

Left the one with 3 directions and right with to directions.

After 9 hours or so my computer is ready calculating and rendering the result you see below.
