I was at the bump festival in Kortrijk Belgium and saw 12 speakers at one real interesting and inspiring day.
Some of the thinks and thoughts of what In learned:
1. Design principles (presented by Jina Anne)
How to build a business culture = the culture of the business will be better if people in the company are aligned to the same standards. But it also works the same for collaborations in my opinion. To have this there is need for:
- Sense of belonging
- The ability of giving input
- Individuals being heard
- Feeling of connection
The standards have to be memorable and easy available (the order can change)
· Clarity
· Efficiency
· Consistency
· Beauty
I think this works the same for making a proposal or a trailer, getting people involved with your story.
With building a community everybody is becoming owner of the design system in a way; not just throwing it over the wall for the other site to use it. To let this happen: listen, focus on the individual, help others go further. Start giving and sharing is the key. Here I see the collaboration project coming in.

Some of the sites referred to:
Think big: https://www.amazon.jobs/en/principles
Ted talk Adam Grant about givers and takers in an organization as a collaborative project is: https://www.ted.com/talks/adam_grant_are_you_a_giver_or_a_taker?language=rup
Mike Molony > art and grafts (art and hard work)
Communicate the message or idea
Trust the process and to become better you have to reinvent the wheel every time

Had some awesome job subscriptions such as warrior of pixilation, conquer, and a lot more, really worked for me and it is nice to see that one day the one and the other day another subscription is more to the point.
Anne Atkins who makes all the graphic things for a film that everybody sees and nobody cares for. She told us to step away from the computer and to take inspiration from the environment. Stop looking at your hands, the making, but to look at the subject. (Good name she has almost Annie Atkins one of the first female photographers). I looked at the film the Budapest Hotel by Wes Anderson because of this talk. This is different after knowing so much details.
Tina Touli; also got away of het computer to experiment with oil on water, fire, cutting paper to come with new shapes and looks in her graphic designs. Merge yourself with your tools, work and ideas. I met her last November in London and this time we had a more in depth talk. I showed her my work and she hopes that I can do an inspirational talk next time we meet.
Neil Mendoza: why because being bored and I get happy while making stuff and learn new things. Play with technology to make complicated useless machines; not everything does have to have a purpose. Create unique experiences.
To not be afraid to experiment and do it again and again to explore hidden depts. That what I make doesn’t have to have a meaning or a purpose to start with and it is good to make just things because of the making.
Because I was there all day just hearing and listinging a lot of new ideas for my own work popped up. This way it always works for me with events and dance performances.
